How to get there
From Phuket
Your trip to Koh Yao Noi starts from a public pier in the edge of Phuket main land called
“Bang Rong Pier”. There are several ways to get to the pier from Phuket town which is
about 40 minutes by local taxi. The local bus is also available from main market in the
town and it would take up to one hour to reach the pier. Furthermore,
if you are travelling from Phuket International Airport (HKT),
the most convenient way to get to the pier is Airport Limo Transfer or Airport Taxi
which is only 30 minutes ride.
After the land transfer, the boat journey from “Bang Rong Pier” to “Koh Yao Noi”
will begin at the ticket counter. Boat tickets can be purchased on-site prior
the boarding time and no advance reservation is needed. While the traditional
wooden boat (motorized) takes up to forty minutes, the speed boat will take only
thirty minutes to reach “Ma Noh Pier” main public pier of the island.
Notes:
- The last local bus from town to “Bang Rong Pier” is around 2pm.
- There are several piers in Phuket but only “Bang Rong Pier”
transfer passengers to Koh Yao Noi
- Make sure that you are boarding on a boat to Koh Yao Noi’s “Ma Noh Pier”
not others
- The last boat from “Bang Rong Pier” to Koh Yao Noi’s “Ma Noh Pier” is 4.30pm
From Krabi
There are two options for passengers who come from Krabi Town to “Tha Lane Pier”,
the only pier in Krabi that boats will depart for “Koh Yao Noi”.
One is forty-five-minute local bus transfer which will starts from
“Ta Lard Kao” (means Old Market) and the other one is hiring a local taxi from
anywhere which will take about 30 minutes to reach the pier. But if you are
travelling from Krabi Internation Airport (KBV), the only possible way is
thirty-minute-journey Airport Taxi.
Boats will be leaving hourly from “Tha Lane Pier” to Koh Yao Noi’s “Tha Khao Pier”
but the schedule is also subject to change without prior notice.
Please make sure you get to the pier before3 pm. On a thirty-minute boat ride,
passengers will get the chance to see the iconic Phang-Nga bay limestone islands,
a signature experience which only those who travel from Krabi will get.
Notes:
- Boat tickets can be purchased onboard. Or just give cash to boat owner
when arrive the destination.
- Only traditional wooden longtail boat available on this route.
